Good products, customer service is a mixed bag. I had a cancelled order attempted to be delivered but the UPS tracking was wrong in several places, no one ever showed up at the claimed time, it was then claimed to be returned to the depot, and I had to explain the issue several times to show them I was not trying to commit fraud! I had an issue with a cable from another order, and it took a while to get them to understand what the issue was, as there are limited options in their support centre, none matching my problem, but they sent me a replacement, albeit it was white not black but that doesn't matter too much. USB cables seem to be their weak point, the drives are great, I had a few other USB cables underperforming but I just upgraded them to longer lengths which is what a lot of people do.

I wish I can give them 0 stars..I ordered 2 blazers Dec 5th in order to wear one of them on New year eve and after many attempts to contact the customer service I only received an email stating that they are about to give me a tracking number today is January 25th and I'm still waiting..How is this possible in 2023 in USA??

External hard drive suddenly not working
I have a "WD My Book" external hard drive that I use to sync my files, pictures, etc., so I have a backup. Exactly what you want to use an external hard drive for…
But when I have to update Windows, I check my external hard drive and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore! I don't know how long it's been going on, but glad I checked...
I tried to contact WD support and their short answer was that since the product is out of warranty they can't/won't help.
It makes no sense in my world that you have to check your external hard drive continuously like that. It just has to work!
And why make some software for your product that suddenly doesn't work?
Either way, I'll have to buy a new external hard drive. And it will definitely not me WD.

I ordered a passport ultra 5GB on 11/27 and no mention of back order when I placed the order. Then shortly AFTER I received an email it was on back order. Also, still receiving emails that it's still on back order for now over 1 1/2 months. Also, can't cancel the order online. I have to call them to cancel this order. Thanks so much WD. Also, I can miraculously get it from Amazon today same day if I order it from them. I tried to place a review on their website and they disallowed it. I guess the truth hurts!!!!!! Latest update: finally got the drive yesterday after many more attempts on my part. I realized they also billed me several weeks before it was shipped. Not good!

BUYERS BEWARE
BUYERS BEWARE! I ordered a blazer 12/3/2022 and didn't receive it til 1/2/2023. The quality of this blazer was nothing at all what I expected. I was also charged again on my account on 1/4/2023 for something that I have no idea and didn't authorize. Can't call they just expect you to go off emails and email an Alex. Very poor service and quality.
Poor CS and device reliability
After five years, the device stopped working. I called CS, who guided me through different troubleshooting procedures to conclude the device had a hardware issue, and they could not do anything about the device and the data that was stuck inside. I was offered a 10% discount on any future purchase. (who wants to buy another product from a company that does not resolve your issue and lose your data forever?) - stay away from this kind of company and device. CS is not about answering the phone and reading a script but solving the issue or compensating the customer up to the level of prejudice, especially when you pride yourself on being a safe data storage and user-friendly company.

This is a lousy company with terrible after sales service. I bought two of their 125 gbs USBs. They didn’t fit in any of my devices.
I got onto Thomas and Scott of Western Digital. They asked me to send photos etc. But refused my offer to send them the defective USBs. There have been many similar complaints about the USBs being defective.
Now they tell me the USBs are fake!
The mind boggles. Beware of this Company.

One of the most terrible service
One of the most terrible service! never buy anything from them.
I bought the most expensive external hard drive i never spend money for and just over one year old is not worked. I went to Best buy to complain about this they testes and said I need to call WD service.
I called and went through all than finally they told me i need to paid for get my file out because this hard driver over guarantee :(

Complete trash company
Complete trash company! I spent $200 on an external hard drive (worked about 50% of the time) and then all of the sudden, they don't support it and tell me I have to buy a NEW one that works with their system! Dumb me tries the new one---cord doesn't fit, can't get pictures off of last hard drive, and NO ONE responds, ever! I have two $200 paper weights that contain pictures of my life that I can't get out! I HATE Western Digital!

Had it for a while but has never really delivered. Often doesn’t link up. Wants log ins I don’t have. Isn’t recognised on my windows lap top. Terrible app. Doesn’t often display thumbnails. Cumbersome to download multiple files, if it works at all. I wanted to store stuff privately and not use a cloud like Amazon. Rubbish though. A shame as it promised so much.

I bought 2x new 10TB NAS HDD
I bought 2x new 10TB NAS HDD. Tried installing in a Synology NAS enclosure. Something went wrong - was it Synology or WD or User fault?? Sent back under warranty to WD in Australia with crossed fingers. Just received 2x NEW HDD replacements.
Friggin' amazing. Blown away by how fast and replacement policy. This is how HiTech companies should treat their customers :) Ill buy more in future knowing even though I'm not a fully qualified techno, I can get backup from these guys.

Very poor support from WD
They do not honor their storage products warranty and make it very frustrating to initiate a warranty claim, with a support website that leads you down a rabbit hole of error messages and misleading links that lead back to the top page. My failed products serial number was not in their database and they turned my warranty claim into a website support incident, leaving me to start the process all over again. Their support site is designed to make you give up out of frustration. They like to reply to complaints with the same bot generated response.
